Call To Action

Step Back and Step Up!

Take a minute with me and let’s go back in time. There was a time when people respected one another. The youth would respectfully greet their elders with words such as, “Yes, Ma’am!” and “Yes, Sir!”. If an elderly person was carrying a bag a groceries while walking down the street, someone would gladly help them to their destination. Children didn’t dare speak ill will or raise their voice to their parents, let alone curse them out. Back in the day, if two people had a disagreement they may have exchanged some words or took the fight out to the playground, but shooting each other wasn’t a viable course of action.

Fast forward to 2013 and what do you see? Children cursing out their parents in public, people shooting each other in broad daylight, women showing EVERYTHING they legally can in the streets, men whose pants are down to their knees with their underwear showing, music playing with lyrics which would make your great grandparents’ head spin, crime against children at an all-time high, and elderly being abused in their final years of life. What’s going on???!!!!

Like a virus, this lack of respect and concern for one another is spreading across our nation and as a mother, it hearts my heart to watch and listen to this world unraveling.

We love to TALK about what we would do but we DON’T do what we need to. The time is now to stop the constant dialogue and start doing something positive with out time and resources.

Luke 12:48

King James Version (KJV)

48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

Anybody who is tired of the atrocities people endure on a daily basis has a duty to make this society better for our next generation. You don’t need a mountain of money, fancy houses and jewelry to make a difference. If you have a few minutes of time, a giving heart, a caring spirit and the desire to turn this disastrous would into one HE would be pleased with, then STEP UP right now!!!

This is not a teenage thing, a youth thing, an elderly thing…this is an EVERYBODY thing!!

Each of us knows someone who has been a victim of crime, violence, abuse, drugs and much more. Maybe it’s your sibling, cousin, neighborhood friend, co-worker, and even yourself.

We’ve all be touched by the lack of accountability and responsibility going on today. If you think you don’t know anyone, just watch television. While watching and listening to the new stories we are exposed to daily, if you are touched by the story, find yourself emotional or even angry, you are a victim of this savage society.

With the way we are headed with the NEXT version (generation), we are doomed!!!

We have a responsibility to this NEXT generation to share our wisdom, experiences and so much more. We MUST get back to the basics…self respect, dignity, accountability, unity, and a sense of community.

Let’s get down to the problem at hand. We’ve all been effected by our past. The question becomes, what have you done to RELEASE our past pains thus UNLEASHING a brand new YOU. Just imagine people who were cleared of anger, worry, sadness and strife. We ALL need to seek some type of auditing or counseling where we can RELEASE the burdens many of us are dealing with so we can UNLEASH a happier, productive, and intentional generation. We don’t realize how much our past comes forward with us into our future thoughts, actions, attitudes, and behavior. THINK ABOUT IT!!!

What can YOU and I do?

Find a local auditor or counselor. Take the time to deal with YOURSELF!

Develop a means to improve self image. Provide classes or workshops in your community which would teach the importance of valuing self.

Build a stronger family structure thus reducing domestic violence, single parent households, separation, dysfunctional families, and divorce

Help those children in the foster care system. Provide them with a family structure. Adopt a child who lost their parents.

Provide classes on parenting to the teenage parents, as well as those who find themselves struggling with overwhelming responsibilities of parenthood

Take the time to make a difference in someone’s life. YOU have the time, you have the resources, just DO IT!!

Make the NEXT generation the BEST generation!!!!
